Governance
Douglas County Catholic Schools, Inc (DCCS) is a separate corporation from the Diocese of Colorado Springs, established to study the need for Catholic schools, plan for the future, acquire property, raise capital funds, oversee construction and establish new schools. Eventually, DCCS will operate the schools.

The DCCS Corporation will be organized with a two-tiered model of governance. The top tier is made up of the members of the corporation, which include the Bishop of the Diocese, Vicar General and Chief Finance Officer. They hold specific reserve powers related to religious education, to temporal administration as required by Canon Law, and to diocesan policy. All responsibilities not reserved to the members are delegated to the Board of Directors, the second tier.

The Board of Directors of the corporation is given jurisdiction over all the areas not specifically reserved to the members. This is a broad range of responsibility, giving DCCS an ability to set its course and plan for its own future in partnership with the local Catholic community. The Board of Directors will provide a key leadership role, and have the authority necessary to provide quality Catholic school education Pre-K to12 within Douglas County. The Board will be responsible for strategic planning and long-term funding of the DCCS.
